Being in a house on a canal off of Boot Key Harbor means you are at some of the best paddle boarding and kayaking in the Keys, and have super fast access to the ocean and Gulf by boat.
Whether it is kayaking or stand-up paddle boarding (SUP) you will have days of fun on the water exploring around the house. Cruise through the moored ships in the harbor, explore the well-marked “trails” in Boot Key, head down Sister’s Creek and explore those canals, or make a visit to Sombrero Beach by kayak/board. You are bound to see lots of marine life and can catch plenty of fish.
If you like a little less effort with your water sports then bring your boat or even better just rent one for extremely reasonable weekly rates and tie it up to the dock. With super fast access to the ocean and the Gulf you can be on the water fishing, diving, snorkeling, or just cruising around in no time.

WHERE TO RENT:
Paddle Boards/Kayaks: There are a lot of places in Marathon to rent kayaks/boards but here are two you can contact who also deliver and pick up for free (others do too, just ask):
(1) Bike Marathon Bike Rental offers pickup and delivery service and can be reached via phone or text @ 305.743.3204
(2) Islander Bike & Kayak Rental also will deliver and pick up your kayak/board to you (others will too, just ask). Give Islander a call @ 305.304.9946.
Below is a Boot Key Harbor trail map but all rental places have their own too …
Boats: There are many great places to rent boats on the island but it is critical that you rent them before you arrive (they book up fast). Weekly rates are typically so cheap it is hardly worth it to bring your own boat.
